Katharine is an experienced and empathetic therapist who cares deeply about her work and relationships with her clients. She believes that the foundation of therapeutic work is the capacity of therapist and client to create and maintain a safe place in which they can explore their life and any challenges that are present. Katharine supports clients with various backgrounds who experience a varying range of issues. She comes along clients to work collaboratively to address their theraputic needs and goals in a supportive and non-judgmental manner. Katharine provides counselling to children, adolescents, adults, families and couples and is able to connect on deep levels of emotion and processing. She is passionate about helping clients understand how their nervous system and neurobiology contribute to their emotional, mental, and physical functioning. Katharine obtained her Masters degree in Counselling Psychology and is a registered member with the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors. She has worked with numerous community organizations and believes in ongoing education and training to look for ways to improve the help she provides to her clients. She brings a wealth of experience in cognitive behavioural, emotion-focused, couples, and trauma therapy. 

Katharine is a trained Adlerian practitioner and who uses HypnotherapyEye Movement Desensitization and ReprocessingEmotional Freedom Technique, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Motivational Interviewing Techniques and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy to help her clients. She is also trained in Somatic Experiencing and is honoured to witness a clients understand their nervous system as they release the effects of long-held traumatic experiences. She enjoys developing a safe place to support as her clients grow their resilience, and to increase their capacity for a healthier relationship with themselves and others. Katharine’s couples training is extensive and is she very experienced in the Gottman Couples Therapy Method. She enjoys working with couples in the process of navigating difficulties in their relationships and supports them with new methods of engaging with one another, while strengthening their relationship. She supports the same attitude of curiosity and mindfulness in her work to address individual issues that contriubte to the resolution of relationship problems. 
Katharine supports and engages clients into a place in which they can share and navigate their thoughts, feelings, emotions and patterns to create change. She is pleased to be accepting new clients at Alison Bell and Associates Counselling Group.
