Peace is a warm, compassionate, insightful and culturally sensitive therapist who brings a wealth of experience and an authentic ability to connect deeply with clients to the counselling process. She invites clients into a warm and engaging space in which they can navigate their thoughts, underlying feelings and relationship patterns and to make meaningful change.
Peace received her Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counselling at Liberty University, USA and is a Registered Clinical Counsellor in British Columbia. She is committed to ongoing professional development and supporting other counsellors in their growth and development both locally and internationally.
Peace works with individuals, families and couples dealing with a variety of issues including depression, anxiety, trauma, life transitions, self-exploration, individual and relationship distress.
She works from the framework of attachment and uses an emotion-focused perspective to address individual and relational dynamics while weaving in approaches, such as Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), and Mindfulness practices to empower clients to navigate their thoughts and feeling and to live more fulfilling lives and relationships.
Working with clients across the lifespan, Peace is also skilled at connection and therapeutic support for children, adolescents and families. She has a tremendous belief in the capacity of families to care for each other. She strives to support the child and family system to cultivate a greater understanding of what is contributing to behavioral and emotional challenges. While providing individualized support to children and adolescents and she also works with families to provide the most effective strategies in the home, social and peer environments.
Peace has a keen understanding and appreciation for the role of emotion in our lives and relationships and strives to educate, assist, and walk alongside clients as they learn to track, stay in touch with, and understand their emotions, as well as those of others. Her therapeutic approach supports clients to develop a greater and better sense of their emotional being, as well as how to effectively use the emotional self in relationships.
